How do you write a research proposal for English? Is it just a paragraph of what you are going to write a paper on or what? What am I trying to accomplish here?!

Thanks for the answer! But I was wondering if it had to be in a specific format or if just a paragraph of info is all I need? I have all my information because I wrote the paper already, but I forgot that I had to write a proposal first. This is the first time I'm writing one so I don't know if it needs to be written specifically or if I just have to write a paragraph.
