I find listening to music can help me concentrate. If you turn off distractions such as your chat programs that will help too. Have an action plan of what you want to try and achieve. If it is something very complex break down the task. Complex tasks when broken down become solvable. Also this will help you to stop procrastinating. People when they procrastinate usually do it to avoid a task they don't want to-do. If you try and make the task more fun. Make a game of it. This will also make what you are doing more interesting. For example if you want to learn a mathematical task. Making up your own examples can be more fun then answering once from your question paper. Then when you have more confidence you can go back to your question paper.
