( cos theta - cot theta ) / 1- sin theta = - cot theta prove the identity.. i'm having troubling making the LS equal the RS

hartnn (hartnn):

write cot theta= cos theta/ sin theta in LS what you get ?

hartnn (hartnn):

then you can factor out cos theta from numerator.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what? i don't understand

hartnn (hartnn):

did you know this : cot theta= cos theta/ sin theta

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i know that

hartnn (hartnn):

then use that in LS

hartnn (hartnn):

( cos theta - cot theta ) / (1- sin theta) = ( cos theta - cos theta/ sin theta ) / (1- sin theta) got his ? now factor out cos theta from numerator, = cos theta (1-1/ sin theta ) / (1- sin theta)
