Ok there are pro and cons to both systems
Lets take into account non-renewable resources
coal and gas will run out they also produce alot of polution. To get gas reserves they use a process called fracking this can have big environmental effects.

Advantages include easy and cheap resources, often not too much effort in producing them. Disadvantages arre that they are in fact non renewable. Very limited. They also seem to have a negative effect on the ecosystem.

Solar power energy is very reliable and free. It doesn't cost a dime to use the Sun's power, because it's alwready here. I would use the Solar and wind's power over the nonrenewable resources purely based on the fact that it's free, reliable, and has no harmful effect on the environment.

I guess hydroelectric is one of the cleanest. It is used quite alot. Dams generate energy in this manner. What they can do when there is little energy consumption they can pump that water backup and repeat the process. They also have things called ducks which are in the ocean they generate alot of energy. Although it is quite expensive it is clean. I would argue that solar is very expensive.

The advantage of hydrolectric over non rewneable is that it is clean. It is renewable so that it can be used again. It is argued that there is a shelf life on oil. A few years that predicted that oil would run out in fifty years although this figure keeps on changing. To get gas a process called fracking is used.
