The interdict was an effective weapon for a pope to use against a king because... A. It Would deprive the king of his own personal salvation. B. It gave other rulers permission to war against the offending king. C. It decreed that the king must give up his kingdom and leave europe forever. D. It cost the king the loyalty of his subjects, who feared for their own souls and place in heaven.

because, an interdict had many sacraments and religious services that could not be preformed in king's lands, the king believed that without such sacraments they might be doomed in hell....so I would probly say A, but it may be best to wait for a second opinion

It would deprive the king of his own Salvation. Only because back in the day, religion was in nearly every aspect of someones daily life, taking that away or turning it on them, would completely change the perspective of others to the victim. It was generally just a nasty idea back then. So agreed, A.
