OpenStudy (aravindg):
what is the area of an isoceles right angled triangle ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
[2x ^2+2x+1/2]
OpenStudy (aravindg):
lol not that I mean formula for area ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
:))) aaa, hb/2 ??
OpenStudy (aravindg):
yep :) ...but note it is given isoceles so b=h !

yeees, I know, but , ok Look==> If hb/2= 2x ^2+2x+1/2 so it would be hb= 4x^2+4x+1, theeen?
OpenStudy (aravindg):
well actually this is a tricky question ... give me a minute
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok
OpenStudy (aravindg):
well first try simplifying the given quadratic :)
OpenStudy (aravindg):
tell me what you get?

2(x+1)(x+1) ???
OpenStudy (anonymous):
noo, 2(x+1/2)(x+1/2) ?
OpenStudy (aravindg):
I get [(2x + 1)^2]/2 on simplification
OpenStudy (aravindg):
yep what you got is right
OpenStudy (aravindg):
I just took the two inside :)

now area of any triangle is given by 0.5 *base * height...equate this to above eqn to get base=height = (2x+1) each..
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Thankss, you help me always, you are very kind :))
OpenStudy (aravindg):
yw :) ...can you do the rest ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes I got it ))
OpenStudy (aravindg):
wow great ! :)
