What is the purpose of a Punnett square? A. Predicting the outcome of a coin toss B. Predicting the number of children someone will have C. Finding the genotype ratio for a cross D. Finding what genes a parent has

OpenStudy (blues):

OK, the best way to approach these multiple choice questions is to use process of elimination. Let's work through the problem - to start, do any of the options strike you as not being the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A and B do not sound plausible

OpenStudy (blues):

I agree - A and B are not it. Telling between C and D is a little harder. But with a Punnett Square, you are given the parent's genotypes, and then use the square to figure out what genotypes the offspring can have, and in one ratios. So I would go with C as the correct answer.
