You need to repaint the floor and inside wall of your circular swimming pool. It has a diameter of 16 feet and a depth of 5 feet. What is the surface area that needs to be repainted? (Use 3.14 for π.) 1,055.04 ft2 251.2 ft2 401.92 ft2 452.16 ft

Unfolding the side panel forms a rectangle, what is the value of x|dw:1365106584923:dw|
i would rather work it out in the formula way. 2 times pi times radius times height plus 2 times pi times radius^2
I plugged in my answers but i didnt get the right answer because the answer i got wasnt one of the multiple questions
x in the picture is the circumference of the pool. pi = C / d, C = pi*d d = 18', C = pi*18' C = 18pi'
So the area of the panel (unfolded) is x'*5', or 18pi'*5' = 90pi square feet Now what about the floor of the pool? Find a|dw:1365107288864:dw|
Lol ok so you could have stopped me when you saw I was using 18' for diameter instead of 16'
Im sorry. i just relized you were.
Area of the unfolded panel is going to be 16pi*5 = 80pi sq ft floor's A(r) = pi*8'*8' = 64pi sq ft so 80pi + 64pi = 144pi sq ft 144*3.14 =
452.16 and sorry i didnt get a chance to work it out. i went back to other page to make sure it didnt time out.
But thank you for explaining and showing me the steps to get the right answer:)
