Remember Rememberme when I amgone away, Gone far away into the silentland; When you can nomore holdme by the hand, NorI halfturn to go yetturning stay. Rememberme when nomore day by day You tellme of ourfuture that you planned: Only rememberme; you understand It will be late to counselthen or pray. Yetif you should forgetme for a while And afterwardsremember, do not grieve: Forifthe darkness and corruption leave A vestige ofthe thoughtsthat once I had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad. Type Of Tone Being Used In The Poem
It sounds as if it were death. They are telling you to remember them by happiness but then forget the sadness. So the tone being used in the poem would be .... I would have to say meaningful? I'm kind of unsure about that one... Pretty Tricky!
Dismal, death, regret maybe?
The tone bears identical likeness of a dying person. Old perhaps, for the words are wise. Losing hints of sanity, for some words are not separated. Crying, possibly (whilst he was writing) because a tone of ache shudders through the poem. Not regretting really, but admitting of all he must have done wrong, but seeking to be pardoned. It's a brave man, readying himself for death. Now I can't tell how it is a man in explanation, but I can tell.
