Why were radio comedies so popular during the 1930s? a)New comedies satirized the highly unpopular president. b)Radios had only recently become available for people to buy. c)Comedies offered a chance for people to forget their worries. d)People had not yet discovered comedic movies. I think its D but im not really sure because I know that the great depression was a really ruff time for everyone so I would think it would be that one .Can someone please help me or tell me if im right ?

The 1930s were traumatic because of the Great Depression, but this sense of overwhelming sadness that characterized the era wouldn't pertain really to comedic movies. Many could not afford to go to the theatre.
