Theorem: If a line is parallel to one side of a triangle and intersects the other two, then the line divides them proportionally. That translates for this problem to: 9/(4x-2) = 12/(3x+2) 9(3x+2) = 12(4x-2) Solve for x. Let me know what you get. @Razzanide
