what is the situation when you wail and scream

scream - give a long, loud, piercing cry expressing extreme emotion or pain.

I am sure you could think of something....perhaps wailing and screaming while falling from the top of a very tall tree, hitting many branches on the way down.
Very painful.( Ouch)

I suppose that one instance would be in pain as if one was being tortured. Since wail is a high piches cry of pain, grief, or anger, and screaming represents fear, extreme emotion, or pain.

lol true but tortue is an endless variety of situations, noone ever specified that it had to be physical torture. Though that is a common thought in some peoples minds lol.

emotional torture....like when your kid has been kidnapped and you don't know where he/she is. That would make someone wail and scream.
