Your goal is to get the y on one side by itself. So you have -7y - 17 and you want that in terms of y only. So you'll want to add 17 and then divide by -7. Remember the rules of inequalities as you go, you don't want to forget to flip a sign. For part 2, you can plug it in to WolframAlpha if you can't visualize it.
