PLEASE HELP! I started out trying to find the perimeter of a hexagon with a side length of 12. I got 72. So I put 72 into the area equation of A=1/2pa. Which would be A=36a. I need the apothem, and i'm not sure what to do next to finish finding the area.

so what exactly do you want to know do you need to find the area and you already have the perimeter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use this \[a=\frac{s}{2tan(\frac{\pi}{n})}\]

I need to find the area, so I found the perimeter first

i'm assuming this comes with hte geometry if you take a small right triangle of the hexagon
