Connections Academy Science 8 B help????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need help with part C of the Lost in Space Checkpoint 2 portfolio. It shows a graph and says: Several scientists believe that if they can calculate the half-life of the unknown sample, they may be one step closer to determining where the sample may be from. The line graph below demonstrates the concept of half-life. Using your knowledge of atoms and half-life, explain what exactly this graph shows. What do the x- and y-axes represent? Give an example of a known element and its half-life (from Part A) to help support your answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you attach the graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um...idk...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can only attach it as a word doc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well what can you infer from the graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um...well I know its the rate at which an element decomposes...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you know about half lifes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Half-lifes are when an element loses half its atoms i think...right?
