I have a problem giving a table of x and y coordinates and their corresponding function values.
Now I have to estimate the volume of the function defined on R = [0,4]x[2,4]

How do I go about this if I do not have the function (only the function values)?

It depends on what function values you have.  You need to split it up the into boxes
