But, anyways, "free software" is rather broad, so I don't know exactly what you're looking for.

I would recommend Avast myself, although the OpenStudy platform isn't really a recommendation area.

http://www.eset.com/us/home/products/antivirus/ Eset Nod32 is by far the most superior antivirus program there is. I have it myself.
