I suppose the problem is to factorize the given expression. x^2-7x+12 ...(1) Compare the above expression to form x^2+Sx+P ....(2) In order to factorize the equation (2), you have to find two numbers A and B such that (A+B)=S and A*B=P Then, we get required factorized form (x+A)(x+B) ...(3) Now , in our case , S=-7 and P=12 So the 2 numbers A and B will be -3 and -4 because (-3)+(4)=-7 and (-3)*(-4)=-12 So, the required expression becomes (x-3)(x-4)
