Which of the following statements is true about prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells? Prokaryotic cells reproduce asexually using binary fission, while eukaryotic cells use mitosis to divide. Both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells use binary fission as a way to increase the genetic diversity of their offspring. Prokaryotic mitosis produces identical daughter cells, but eukaryotic mitosis produces daughter cells that are not identical. Both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells use binary fission for asexual reproduction and mitosis for sexual reproduction.

Can anyone help me with this one?

OpenStudy (wach):

Sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking it was either A or C? But not sure?

OpenStudy (wach):

It's not C. In mitosis, the daughter cells of eukaryotic cells are identical - they are differentiated in meiosis. I believe A would be correct, since eukaryotes don't use binary fission.

Ok thank you, for your help. Does anyone else have an option? I am going for A. Thanks again.
