In the process of dividing a prokaryotic cell into two daughter cells, what happens next after the two copies of DNA are moved to opposite ends of the cell? Nuclear membranes form around each set of DNA. Spindle fibers separate from the chromosomes and dissolve. DNA unravels, and replication occurs. Cytokinesis occurs, dividing the cell in half.
