x + y = 90 degrees and sin(x) = .432 I need to find cos(y). Please help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Based on co-function identities: sin x = cos (90° - x) Since y = 90° - x, would cos y equal sin x (if x and y equal 90°)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, cos(90 - .432)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin(x) = .432 ... so cos(y) = .432 if x + y = 90°

OpenStudy (anonymous):

seriously? They are the same?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you! That is correct. I appreciate your help :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) yes an example: sin 30° = cos 60°
