Can anyone explain the three points in the red rectangle? More specifically, why does the system have such behaviour(s), like oscillates but converges, under those conditions?

why not refer PID controller, from wikipedia....i guess that may help a bit...

Thanks for your input, but I haven't learnt PID controller yet. At this stage, we haven't dealt with integration nor differentiation in this course. Is there any easy way to understand it?
