What is simplify the expression? 22+(3 small 2-4 small 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you write it with the editor Please :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

22+(3^{2}-4^{2})

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[22 + (3^{2} - 4^{2})\] is this right??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok well \[3^{2} = 9\] \[3^{2}\] is also 3 multiplied by itself 2 times so \[4^{2}\] is 4 multiplied by itself 2 times which equals 16 Now we take these two terms and equate them so... \[22+ (9-16)\] 9-16 is -7 so we have \[22+ (-7)\] Or \[22-7\] Which will give us an answer of 15 :) Hope this helped :)

ok thanks
