Explain how farming in Louisiana changed after the Civil War. How did the changes affect farmers politically?

After the Civil War, the south was very economically depressed. During the war, a sort of substitute confederate money was created and when the North won, all of this currency became completely useless. South dropped as an economic power and it took more than a century to recover. Additionally, black slaves were liberated, but often, without any available jobs, they worked as paid laborers on farms. This didn't help farmers economically.
