What does an electric motor do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Usually an electric motor is made of iron and a solenoid which increases the magnetic field which then allows a substantial amount of current to flow through the engine. I am referring to a car engine. If you increase the amount of coils in the engine you will have a more powerful engine.

"motor" uses the electrical energy and with the help of magnetic energy converts the electrical energy to machanical work the opposite is the "generator" the generator, with the help of magnetic field, converts mechanical work to electrical energy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It converts Electrical Energy to Mechanical(rotational) Energy.

It is the energy type converter... from electrical to mechanical...
