Before the Great Depression, it was good. *expand on that* Mostly everyone had a job, new inventions were being made such as the first automobile by Henry Ford. Washing machines, radios,that the middle class *the average family* could buy. Slaves were free *people were still racist*,  and also the stock market grew!! Whcih crashed in 1929 *i believe im not sure*, Which was the main reason, for the great depression! @Preetha

Well not right after, the great depression was about 10 years.... and world war 2 was in 1940, and the great depression started in 1929.
