what is the segment midpoint for (-8,-7) and (-7,-8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you aware of the mid point formula @tiffanydecker?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no maam

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, it's pretty easy. Suppose I have two points, (a,b) and (c,d), and I want the midpoint of the two. I take the arithmatic mean of x and y coordinates respectively. For x coordinate, it is (a+c)/2 and y coordinate, it is (b+d)/2 These will be the mid poits.

ok so what would be the midpoint for (-8,-7) (-7.-8) they come out to be -7.5 when i divided it by two. is that wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. That's correct. It's (-7.5,-7.5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you for being helpful
