what is modulation in terms of carrier wave, sideband,message signal ??
m really confused. .
wht is the original signal called. . ??

sending a high frequency signal is desirable as it has got several advantages over low frequency signal like reduction in energy loss, antenna size ,noise level. The message signal is superimposed over a high frequency carrier wave and the resultant signal is called modulated signal. This modulated signal is the one which is transmitted from one place to other. Now the original message signal is not to be lost and it is extracted back at the end of transmission.
Modulation is the procedure of superimposing the message signal over the carrier wave.Like 1) amplitude modulation (AM) 2) frequency modulation (FM) 3) phase modulation(PM)
