a cylindrical water tank with a volume of 640 cubic feet. the height of tank is 8 feet. what is the area of the base of the tank?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The volume of a cylinder is 2*pi*r*h where r is the radius of the base and h is the height of the cylinder. 2*pi*r is the area of a circle so in this case the area of the base. You should be able to just divide the total volume by the height to get the area of the base.
