can some give me a brief meaning of the "American standard of living" during the 1950s... Cramming!
Suburbs were starting to become a mainstay, business and the economy were booming, and Americans slipped into high consumerism.
thank you! my answer was expanding upon only the slip into high consumerism / high consumerism so now I can expand and read the right section! much appreciation
1. Explain the meaning of the "American standard of living" during the 1950s. thats the actual question.... does it seem to be that the teacher is asking for, in your opinion (because I want a second opinion), what defined the way of life (what was its norm/culture) during the 1950s? which I am responding with a decent paragraph summarizing the above aspects ........ - is it just me or is this question structured in a strange manner?
It is structured strangely, I agree. Hey, another thing you could talk about could be the Cold War, and desire for Americans to supersede the USSR in any way. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitchen_Debate
