Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that infects (and destroys) Helper T Cells. As a result, people who are HIV+ generally have a low number of these T Cells. How would a dramatic decrease in Helper T Cells affect a person’s immune response?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Well, T-cells are antibodies that help to fight foreign invaders. If there isn't enough of these cells to fight the war against intruders, what does that suggest about 1. our body 2. the final result? That will help you answer this qustion.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the immune response would become less effective and slower because they are rapidly losing their main/strongest defense (t-cells)
