Chapter 7 of Land of Youth
“I won’t,” they said at the same time. “Why didn’t you tell us this?” Anna asked. “Because I was afraid of what your mother would think. I know I am a disgrace to you but can we talk about this later?” King Gordon asked. “Sure why not? Come on let us finish giving him the tour. Then we can talk about it on our way back,” said Queen Anna. She really did not want to talk about it later; she wanted to talk about it now. However, her father had taught her to be patient. They went into the workshop and inquired if Margay Gray was available. He was not. He was at the store buying more supplies. “If he is at the store, would you mind revealing a narrative and how something in this factory mechanism?” asked the king. “Why sure, this is a very famous tale: One bright and sunny day, Stuart was walking to work-,” the co-worker began to say. Stuart was a short guy well known for his pottery. At one point, he was known for his charisma. “One factory connected,” King Gordon interrupted to say. Apparently, he had not met little Stuart. “Don’t worry it is. Anyways, he was walking down the street to work, when all of a sudden a man emerged from a building nearly bumping into little Stuart. The man said his apologies and explained that he had just gotten startling news from Margay Gray. The man had been fired and Stuart had been hired for duty. He wanted little Stuart to turn down the job, but Stuart said no. Good thing he did or else we will not have this many pots done by now. We had taught him how to make pottery. Apparently, he did better than we did. We are trying to get him to teach us how to do it as good. Nevertheless, he says he used his knowledge and the lessons we taught him. Every day we let him do the pottery because when we compare ours to his, its just crappy. Therefore, we let the people who do the best at a certain thing do that for life. Well anyways, I am getting off topic. His first lesson that day he did very well with so we decided to skip the next lesson and go on to the next one, the one that hit everybody here the hardest. Not him he passed it with no problem. The first pot he made was this,” the co-worker picked up a plastic bowl and showed it to them. “He made this two months ago.” Its design was intricate, it looked like it was made an hour ago, and it was still drying. “Each and every one he adds a special ingredient, we’re trying to figure out what that element is. We still have not, we still watch him when he is making a pot, which only takes him an hour and us five hours. Well he went into the shop and he told them what had happened and said he would not like to quit his new job that he had loved ever since he was a child. He took the job and what do you know he has been a success to us and we would like to keep him at his job. Nothing will part him with his job, even if he has a girlfriend. He likes her but not as much as his pottery. “Why are you telling them this story, you know they’re zoning out on you. Why didn’t you tell them my story?” he looked at the visitors and gasped. They began to come back to life. King Gordon began to panic again.
