Does this sentence use the semicolon and the word "whether" correctly? "Our staff will make sure your dinner is perfect; whether it's the beef, chicken, or our delicious pork."

the word whether is correct, im not so sure about the semicolon, although it looks right to me. http://theoatmeal.com/comics/semicolon
it is suppose to have a comma instead of the semicolon.
Mabe I'd feel better without the "it's". Does "Our staff will make sure your dinner is perfect, whether you choose the beef, chicken, or delicious pork" sound better?
yes very much so.
