Anytime you have a people fighting against others who have better weapons... you usually rely on knowing the area and unconventional fighting to win the battles.

Case in point... todays terrorists. In Iraq and Afghanistan the roadside bombers know they would not be able to win a fight with our sioldiers if it was a regular fight where the Americans superior weapons would give them the upper hand, but when you put a bomb on the road and strike without warning that advantage goes right out the window.

like Punji Pits in vietnam...outmanned and outgunned Vietcong dug pits and put sharpend bamboo with fecal matter of the tips...you fall in, get stabbed multiple times, contract highly lethal bacteria, die, then your body becomes biological wepon because it is unable to be removed from pit
