How do you find the surface area of a cylinder?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the area of one of the bases by using the formula for the area of a circle. now you multiply it by 2 for the top and bottom circles. next, find the area of the sides by multiplying the circumference of the base by the height. add the numbers up and boom.
