word problems..... anyone???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Water issues from a hose-pipe of internal diameter 1cm at a rate of 5litres/min. At what speed is the water flowing through the pipe??

@e.mccormick can you help me with this one??

OpenStudy (mertsj):

1L=1000 cm^3 so 5 L = 5000 cm^3 V=area of base x length 5000=pi(.5)^2(length) 5000/.25pi = length= 20000/pi cm That is the length per minute so the speed is 20000/60pi cm per second = 106 cm per second

thank you!....i would say that was a smart thinking...
