Find the sale price of a $60 regularly priced tennis racket that has been discounted 30%.

There are 2 ways you can do this. Consider the regular price is 100% of the price. The sale price is 30% less than the regular price. So: Multiply the regular price by the discount which gives the amount of the discount, then subtract that from the regular price: \[60 - (60 * .30)\] or consider the discount is 30% of the regular price, so the sale price is 70% of the regular price and you can multiply 60 by .70 to get the same answer.
