Charge in a magnetic field.. @Mashy

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

I'll post my work. Wait.

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

Thats what i did. I got the momentum as 8*10^-9. But thats not the answer. As magnetic field doesnt change the speed, so there wont be any change in the final and initial momentum. Once i know the answer to the first question, i can do the second question by resolving the components.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lemme see wait!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you considered the down axis as Z axis and the horizontal as X axis right?

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

No. magnetic field is in k direction and v is i direction, so force on the charge will be in i(cross)k=-j direction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yea sorry !!..correct.. wait arr.. lemme see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you know that is the centre of the arc ??

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

If the charge completes the whole circle, x=1 would be centre... ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why?!?? :O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see this is the geometry

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

|dw:1365515764181:dw| if it was completing the SEMI CIRCLE in the magnetic its centre would be on x=1 no? So the centre of that arc would be x=1 too.. ?
