Examples of physical changes!

thomaster (thomaster):

There are countless other examples like: -breaking a bottle -melting ice -boiling water -cut down a tree -mowing grass -popping a balloon

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

can u give me a little more examples?

thomaster (thomaster):

First one wasn't a very good example :P burning down a house is kinda a chemical change as these is change at molecular level. A physical change doesn't change the molecular structure, it just rearranges the molecules

thomaster (thomaster):

can't you think of some examples? Things that change but don't affect the internal structure is a physical change.

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

yup i got them !! thank you very much for helping! :)

thomaster (thomaster):

So for example i throw my laptop out of the window. That is a physical change, and it means the demise of my laptop xD It is a physical change because the parts of the laptop are rearranged, laptop is crushed to pieces. BUT, the internal structure of the laptop on molecular level is not changed. The laptop is now in pieces, but that pieces still contain the same material as the original state of the laptop. If for some reason the laptop catches fire, the internal structure is changes because burning something means that reactions take place. Now the laptop is not made from the same materials anymore

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

ohhh i gotcha.... can you delete your comments ? :) thank you

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

@thomaster ?

thomaster (thomaster):

Why would i delete them?

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

ill PM u to tell u k?
