Determine the slope and the y-intercept of the graph of the equation. x + y = 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope= -1 y-intercept= 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why? You have to isolate y and get it by itself. The easiest way to do t hat is to subtract x from both sides, leaving you with y= -x + 10. This is the slope intercept form of the equation. In slope intercept form, y= mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept

Thank you. You explained it so I understand it.
