Find two other points on the quadratic function. y = x^2 + 2x – 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3, +1 (x+3)(x-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but one of the answers is (1,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the other answer is (2,5) . But I dont understand how you get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, points, just plug in. You could have infinite points. When x=1, y =0: when x=2, y=5

I gave you the factored form first, if you aren't at that level or don't know what that is, IGNORE it. Right now, all you're doing is pluggin in a value for x, and seeing what f(x) or y value is returned. Plug and chug, as they say.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats the value of x ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry Im so lost .
