What was the relationship between the balkans and world war 1 ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Balkans were known as the "Powder keg of Europe" because of the numerous land claims and rivaling between countries, which cause tensions to rise in Europe before World War 1. You'll have to find out what actually happened in the Balkans though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and another question is when did the crimean war offically begin and end??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What was the crimean war anyway?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just a short quick summary please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was between 1853 and 1856, the major European powers were involved, Britain, France, Russia, the Ottoman Empire, and Kingdom of Sardonia. The Ottoman Empire was collapsing and France attempted to claim the area, when Russia stepped in and war broke out. It is often considered the first modern war.
