the vertices of a triangle are A(3,-2) B(2,3) C(-3,1). name the vertices of the image reflected across the y-axis A.. a(3,-2)B(2, 3)C(-3, -1) B.. a(-3,2) b(-2,-3) c(3,-1) C.. a(-3,-2)B(-2,3)C(3,1) D.. a(3,-2)B(2, 3)C(-3, 1)

What happens when you reflect a point (a, b) in the y-axis? The y-value, which is b, stays the same. However, the x-value is multiplied by -1. e.g. What is the point (-3, 4) after reflecting in the y-axis? (a, b) = (-3, 4) <- before reflection (-a, b) = (-3*-1, 4) = (3, 4) <- after reflection So now do exactly that for each of the vertices of the triangle. After you get the answer, tell me and we will see if you did it correctly. @E-dawg

It would be C? @genius12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@E-dawg That is correct. Good job.

Thanks for your help. @genius12
