what are some simularities and differences between anvien greek and roman culturr

religions were similar - they borrowed/adapted some of the same gods
some of the greek city states changed types of government from democracy to oligarchy to whatever and the romans went from a republic to an empire
both had lots of trade, literature, art

rome conquered its neighbors and made them roman...and I guess alexander did that too but lots of greek history was a bunch of separate city states doing their own thing

both had high points and then went into decline

both became part of the foundations for western civilization
