Find out how much sugar you need for just one cookie. To do you have to divide the sugar needed by the amount of cookies. In this case 1.25/20 (because 1/4 is .25) and the answer you get is the amount of sugar needed for one cookie. Afterwards, you multiply your answer by 12 to know how much sugar is needed for 12 cookies. So: 1.25/20=0.0625 and 0.0625*12=0.75 We know 0.75 is just 3/4 so the amount of sugar needed for 12 cookies is 3/4's of a cup
