I am struggling In how to explain the answer to this question im hoping someone can explain it to me not only give me the anser please. There are 18 students in Mr. Alvarez's art class. through out the year every student must pair up with every other student to complete a project, how many projects will be finished?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm lol without pen and paper this is kinda hard try 18*18 cause then every one gets a new 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait nope I was wrong you go 18 + 17 + 16 +15+14+13+12 etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if every student has to make one project with all the other sutdents. there will be 17 projects that need to be done for each student. For every project, there will be 9 pairs of students. So 17 projects x 9 pairs = 153 project will be finished

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that makes scence. so 17 projects per student, and 9 pairs

OpenStudy (anonymous):
