Why did Garibaldi declare himself dictator of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A cursory search seems to suggest that he was attempting to expand Italy's power in the region by using local rebels to fight and win over the two territories, which were two regions that were unified into "Two Sicilies"...the region started out as Sicily, split up into two different factions, Kingdom of Naples (island?) and Kingdom of Sicily (peninsula?), and then were separately calling themselves Kingdom of Sicily.... very strange. But then, that was how the world turned in that era.

OpenStudy (toots):

He wanted to rid Italy of the Bourbon monarch.
