Perimeter of a Square: The formula for the perimeter of a square is P=4s where s represents the length of any one of the sides of the square. a) Write this function using function notation. b) Determine the perimeter of a square with sides of length of 7 meters.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk bout a. but the answer to b. is P = 4(7) = 28 using the formula you have

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I thought that too o: but I need help with a). Thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well what is function notation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not so sure either...

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Replace P with P(s) or f(s) and that's all you need to do to convert to function notation

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that's for part a) for part b), evaluate P(7) or f(7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got a) P(s)=4s b) P= 4(7)=28

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

good
