Read the three attachments, look at the graphs, and you will know. @TRowstudy

Thank you! Could you help me with another? Consider a system of equations formed by a line and a parabola. How many solutions are possible? How many solutions are possible for a system of equations formed by a parabola and a circle?

Directrix (directrix):

Consider a system of equations formed by a line and a parabola. How many solutions are possible? Do some drawing. Sketch a parabola and then experiment with drawing a line. Does the line have to intersect the parabola? If so, in how many points?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It can only at two points.. right?

Directrix (directrix):

Who said that they had to intersect? Click on the blue DRAW tab below and do some sketching.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It doesn't have to, but the maximum possible would be 2 points right? |dw:1365645081971:dw|
