The price of a large pizza in 2009 was $15, it was raised to $21 by 2011. By what percentage did the price of a large pizza increase? 140% 6% 40% 28%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The pizza has increased by $6. Now to turn it into a percentage we need to know what proportion $6 is of the original price. With me so far?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did it increased $6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In 2009 it cost $15 now it costs $21 so it has increased by how much?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 ohh okki get it now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so we know that the increase is $6 but what is that as a percentage? We simply need to find how much $6 represents in $15. Or put another way \(6/15=?\)
